Something a Little Bit Strange!

I am very much into long range planning. Very little is done on the spur of the moment!

Kenji mentioned the idea of taking the ferry to the mainland, driving to the border, then cycling to Mt Baker and back. From Aldergrove it is about 80 K one way. I am thinking July 7, a Monday, might be a good day. So, if anyone is interested let me know!!! We could pile up to five people and bikes in my vehicle to keep the cost of the ferry down.

Just a thought! I'll update this post closer to July 7.

Barton.

Barton, any chance of a later ride date due the big loop ride happening the day prior? I don't think I could get back on the bike to ride 180km (google maps) so soon after such an effort.

Note that, for logistical reasons, the Big Loop Ride has been moved to July 20th.

Thanks for the heads up. Great, now I have to get an enhanced drivers licence ASAP to make this ride a reality.

I'm potentially interested. Been wanting to do Mt Baker for a while now. How many people do you have committed?

So would the plan be to leave early Monday morning to get to the border and then climb or leave Sunday evening, stay close to the US border and then ride Monday morning?

Leave on the 7 AM ferry and return later that evening.

Sounds like an awesome ride. I can't go on the 7th, but if you decide to do it the week after, I can go.
