Riding to Western Speedway tomorrow?

Post by stevierooks »

Im gonna leave from the switch bridge at 5:30 If anyone wants to join.

Id prefer to ride the shoulder of the highway out this time instead of travelling through Langford via Atkins.

Just to confirm, as there have been a few questions about it, the racing begins at 6:30 pm as advertised.

C race at 6:30 pm: 20 minutes plus 5 laps.
B race at 6:55 pm: 30 minutes plus 5 laps.
A race at 7:30 pm: 30 minutes plus 5 laps.

If there are any changes to be made (I don't anticipate any), they'll be made before the start. No revisions mid race tomorrow.

I'll be there at 5:30 pm to open the track for practise and for guest vendors.

I don't see any rain forecast. There's music and a concession stand - come for the ride out and to watch. It's a fun atmosphere. Come to think of it (rather late), it would be great for people driving to offer a car/van ride back for people who want to cycle only one way. This is something I/we should organize better next time.

I am riding out as well. I think some people will be at the Switcvh Bridge to ride out at 5:15 (because I may have mentioned that time to them already). The earlier time also helps get us there to assist John in any set-up, sweeping, (my recovery from the ride out  ) etc..

So, if it works with your schedules let's shoot for a 5:15 departure from the Switch Bridge.

Strava says Im the KOM at Western Speedway!! I didn't get the podium but I still like the title  That means Tripleshot is the King Of the Mountain at Western Speedway because I would never have had such a great night tonight without the Club.
Way to go John Taylor, Fozzy, Bart and Steve for giving your time and effort to host this race. Those are just the guys I personally saw helping out - I know there were others. Three great entertaining races!
