SoCal riding

If you are looking for some excellent riding in drier warmer weather, Nic Hamilton, Anika Todd and I would recommend the Santa Monica mountains north of LA. Although if you are driving there you need to allow for 24 hours driving time. But the riding is excellent, quiet roads, lots of hills (e.g. Las Flores - 10 Kms with 850m of ascent), fast descents (even Ritchie's rims would be hot - although I saw some skateboarders riding down Tuna Canyon's 14% grades), celebrity homes, scenic views, lots of cyclists (more riders than motorists), temperatures in the high 60s. Only thing missing is Tripleshot members. See you all soon.

It's SPECTACULAR riding! And lots of good group riding. I came down mid October and never really left. Alaska Air has cheap flights and reasonable luggage fees. Avoid American Air and United ($200 per bike!!!). Hope to see some of the TSC gang down here :)

Pisses me off about United jacking the bike fee. I use them a lot to get Air Canada Altitude/Aeroplan points. Rat b@st@rds. I have a conference in LA Jan 26-28. Maybe we can get out to Santa Monica before or after - I need redemption on those hills.
