Sidney Twilight Crit Saturday - desperate for Volunteers

All,

I had a call today from Jon Watkin, Race Director for this weekend's events and he has had a bunch of last minute cancellations by marshalls for the Sidney Crit Saturday from 3pm-8pm.

He put up the Tripleshot version of the bat signal over Victoria (a giant pink Argyle Easter Egg in the sky) and gave me a call (I think that makes me Alfred :? ).

So.... any tripleshotters (or members of the extended tripleshot family) able to wear a VERY stylish safety vest and make sure that pedestrians/spectators dont go onto the course? Jon needs 3 - 5 people (no experience needed) to help out. I said that I am happy to help once my race is over. Anyone else?

It would be a HUGE shame to not be able to keep a super cool event like this going because we cant get a few people out to marshall.

If anyone is able to help please email Jon directly at:

Email: jon@sidneytwilightgp.com
Phone: 250.380.6920

More details about the event at: http://www.sidneytwilightgp.com/mainpage.html

Jon will then get you any "details" and make sure you get your invitation to the "after party" with food & bevearges and PRIZES!!!

I will ask the family tonight. Jo's away for the day, so I'm on kid duty. If I can get them to come, or otherwise occupied, I will marshall.

I just emailed Jon to see if help is still required - if so I'm in :)
I'll be there with the whole family earlier in the day, and likely I will need a ride back to Vic as they will surely abandon me there :(

Just a quick note of thanks to all that answered the call for volunteers today. It's that kind of response that makes this racing community so great. It also means everyone understands the reciprocal nature of club-based racing. It's one of the main reasons I enjoy racing and riding here so much more than I did back on the mainland.

Congratulations too, to the boys in powder blue. Nicely done, Peter, Gavin, and Roland. You set a wicked tempo off the gun a were decisive in the outcome of your race. Now that's what I call racing. You guys rock.
