The big "Twerk Talk"...

Believe it or not, it shows what a literate crowd we are when a very high-brow subject like twerking gets discussed over coffee as it did on last Sunday's ride. Of course when we, mostly 'les hommes d'un certaine age' get around to discuss things which our kids talk about in furtive language, it's all about the discomfort felt by our children who are confronted with trying to explain something so simple to their loser parents. I'm told, "twerk" is now officially in the Oxford English Dictionary, so we can proceed discussing and dissecting the subject with a high degree of learnedness. Dylan is trying to figure out how to say "twerk" in Spanish so his kids will be assured how hip he is. And thankfully the New York Times lays out what the poor embarrassed kids can't:

The problem is, by the time the New York Times has covered something such as twerking it's already passé and your kids have moved on to something else. If you want to ensure their discomfort better to just blast "We Can't Stop" and sing along as you drive them to school. Bonus points for doing it in the carpool.

But if you're still dying to know about twerking, this video is all you need to know about it and the corrosive (yet powerful) effects it once had on young people.
