Tandem anyone?

This is not a 'for sale' post. More like a 'for borrow' post.
I have two tandem bikes. The first one is a Schwinn, an 18-speed, bar-endshifter white beauty bike, bought her at Nauss' bike shop on Robie Street in Halifax in May of 1992 and and then proceeded to convince my wife we needed to peddle it to Victoria. We arrived in Victoria in July and the bike has been basically sitting in the man-shed gathering dust ever since. Bikes shouldn't do this....
The other bike is a Burley, silver, very nice. Rear drum brake to slow you down on those long descents when you're loaded with gear. Fatter tires, but slicks, prob better for off-road but great for the highway too. Both bikes have racks for paniers. The front 'Captain' position will fit someone up to about 5ft 10" or so, and the rear, someone a bit smaller. (the rear position is for the 'stoker' though the person stoking doesn't need to know this bit of information).
Both are available for borrowing. They have new tires and are in pretty good shape.
If someone would trade-borrow a tandem for a stand-up paddleboard for a week or two, let me know.... Or if there is just someone who is curious and wants to come by to try them out, don't hesitate.

cheers, Alan
