Itching to get racing? Interested in savings a few bucks? Early bird registration ends tonight at midnight, so take a break from training, get online and get yourself registered today! To speed your registration process, please use your logon credentials (see bottom of page) when prompted.

Cardinal Law Sidney Twilight Grand Prix presented by Russ Hays The Bicycle Shop - Saturday, July 25th. This exciting race is back and bigger than ever as the 2009 BC CUP Final event. Racing on a short fully enclosed 1000 metre figure-8 course through Sidney's downtown area, this European-style event will test the skill and resolve of BC's finest cyclists.

Oak Bay Bikes Cops for Cancer Criterium and the Tim Horton's Timbits Kids Challenge - Sunday, July 26th. This great event provides racing action for the whole family from youth recreational to elite competitive racing as it raises money to support kids battling cancer.
Early bird entry fees are in effect until July 10th, so register early for maximum savings.

All events are organized through the Aviawest Cycling Society, which is a not-for-profit group that provides support to local youth who aspire to become the Champions of tomorrow.

Help us spread the word. Please post our event dates on your club calendar or blogs and forward this email to your cycling club members and racing buddies (make sure you delete your login credentials before sending along). Encourage them all to get out and race!

There are lots of good events.

Sidney GP: Men Cat 5/Citizen - Tripleshot can win this! Maybe even own the entire podium.

Sidney GP: Women Cat 4/Citizen - What are the chances of getting 1 or 2 women out for this race? Women's races are rare, we really need to support organizers that put them on. Smaller fields, less craziness, what's not to like?

Sidney GP: Men 3/4 - Me, in a Cat 3 race with no hills? This isn't going to be pretty. I'm taking bets on which lap I get pulled from the race. My money is on lap 1.

OBB Crit B: How many did we have out last time? This time we can get even more!

Great post Roland and good call about the women .... C'mon Sarah, Lisa, Dolly & Kim you get your own start and will be resplendent in TS gear... you could OWN this race. And with it being a separate start its SUPER safe.

As for Roland, I'm not biting on that bet. I think you can surprise them all.

I'm definitely in for both races!!

I've been saving up my brownie points for months now and I have been granted immunity for the weekend!

Clydesdales unite - this is our weekend! Not a hill in sight!

I should also mention that the Sunday crit is only $15 and all the money goes to kids living with cancer. How can you not support that?

YEAHHH CLYDESDALES! Lets get the whippets working for us (although we may have to stack them to get a draft!).

2nd - I think Gavin has overtaken Brian S for the best Avatar and is a clear leader for the "signature block message" competiton. Way to go Gav! Hard to believe that was Gavin just a couple of years ago!

Few years ago? That was taken last week at Caleb Pike!

Thought you guys would like that one! An hour of searching for 'something inappropriate' well wasted!

I was looking for a really fat picture of Jan Ullrich, but came up empty handed....
