I am taking Andrew (11) to the 'back country' in Strathcona in about ten days (for a 4-day hike). Looking to borrow a 2-man tent and perhaps an 11-yr-old-suitable backpack (we've got lots of school backpacks - hoping to get a 'proper' one for this trip). PM me if you can help. Also, happy to receive advise from those who have done similar. I've done a fair bit in Banff (20 years ago) but nothing in Strathcona.
Thanks,
JT

Just bought him a 'proper' back-pack. A 2-man back-pack tent is all we need now. Going in from the north (Elk River Valley, is what it's called I think).

We have a tent for you to borrow. I know the Rockies but not strathcona. We have two friends who were park rangers there, let me know if you want me to ask them some questions for you.

I just picked one up from Ritchie, so I won't need yours, but thank you very much for the offer. Can't wait to go - I've waited many years for the kids to get big enough for this type of adventure.
