I know we have a bunch of doctors who ride with TS, but I wanted to share some information with all of you from a workshop that I went to today at the Ministry of Health. Because concussions are so serious and are not always been treated correctly, a new online tool that has been developed for doctors and nurses on how to treat concussions (another tool will be released in November for parents, coaches etc. that will have a smart phone app)

You can look at the link for doctors and nurses http://www.cattonline.com

The big things I learned was that one does not have to lose consciousness to have a concussion AND the signs and symptoms of a concussion can come 2 to 3 days after the incident. So for 2 to 3 days after an incident involving head or neck trauma one should take it easy. Which means, one should not exercise or tack the brain (not even watch TV - who ever thought watching TV was hard on the brain, the soul maybe, or read). The brain needs time to rewire.

I have a friend who did not do this, and four months later she is still trying to recover. It is SERIOUS!!! Everyone reacts differently, but just in case... take it easy!
