Tripleshot Cycling

We, the "C'S", had a crash this morning as we came up the Oak Bay Beach Hotel hill. Mark Sheppard was first to go down followed by a Kathy Holt, a new Triple Shot rider. Mark was brused but otherwise unhurt. Kathy was not so lucky as she did a face plant and appeared very dazed. Fortunatley Dan B., a paramedic, quickly took charge and checked Kathy over. Dr. Eric rode by with the "Bs" and also provided assistance as we waited for the ambulace. Kathy was transfered to Vic General for a check up and observation.

Eric did double duty by giving Kathy's bike a check. Not good -the carbon fork was cracked and will need replacing. I took Kathy bike to her home.

I visited Kathy this evening at her home and she confirmed she has no major injuries. The facial lacerations are not pretty but they will heal. Kathy very much appreciates the Triple Shot help and concerns.

Kathy (or is it Katherine?) Heal fast and come out again soon.
I hope your bike is being repaired or you have another bike.

Finally got to the right place. I posted a thank you on the tripleshot facebook page but Paul informs me that is not the go to place.

Thanks for all your help on Tuesday. I'm not pleased to have set two records: participant in first crash in C group and my first crash ever as an adult cyclist. Yes - my face is kind of a mess with road rash and my bike is in the shop and helmet needs replacing but better them than my bones. I got off pretty well considering.

Thanks very much to Dan especially for his expert immediate attention and Mark for rescuing my bike.

I loved that ride right up until it ended - then not so much. Hope to see you all soon - but it maybe another week or so.

Meant to post days ago, but hope you are back up and riding again. I'll be out with the C's this Tuesday after two week break from 6 a.m. rides.
