Wanted 54cm (or so) road bike.

I'm looking for a bike for my Dad.
He's a complete beginner roadie, and has decided with some of his buddies to buy road bikes and give it a try. He's 5'9", so I'm looking for something in the 53-55 ish range for size.
Something decent for a beginner in the $600 to $1200 range, maybe 105 or comparable gruppo.
Anybody have anything they want to sell?
