I'm in, Barton!
I've only had one ride in two weeks - so the stamina will be poor. I'll try to make up for it with dirty jokes.

We made need those jokes somewhere around Willis Pt!
Did I mention this will be a no drop ride? Lots and Lots of hills but we always wait up at the top.

Norm's in. And he's a good draft — when he's not on some weird, legume-only diet.

Fun ride, nine of us out. Except Sylvan. Did Dieter have better plans for you this morning?
I *love* the rollers on Gillespie. Norm, Steve, and I pulled off the group as they headed for the Highlands. It started raining the moment I set foot in the door. The rest of 'em haven't been heard from since.
Think I made the right call.

We're Back! That was fun! It started raining just as we started up Munn Rd. Six of us, Michelle, Rolf, Curran, Blair, Andrew, Me! Kate, Norm and Steve peeled off before the madness, well, continued madness. It was a long morning with lots of climbing and real close to 110 K.
It was a great ride. We'll have to do this again soon!

Someone in the group gave me their spare tub. Identify yourself!! I'll replace it!

Thanks everyone (especially Barton for instigating!) I had a blast today - I am absolutely in for the next one.
Barton - I think the tube came from Blair.

Moments of ecstasy on the rollers in East Sooke were replaced with misery and suffering in the Highlands. My longest ride in two years and well beyond my conditioning. I knew I was in trouble when we hit the first ramps on Munn's after 80k and my legs turned to useless blocks of wood. Thanks for all the waiting, guys. The Interurban sprint was such a mess of cramp.
My app doohickey says 890m of climbing:

The suffering was greatly reduced by the excellent company. Looking forward to the next one. (Though the six hours it took from leaving the house to limping out of the shower reminded me that stepping away from family responsibility for that long requires extensive planning, diplomacy etc. )

Thanks for the ride everyone! I had a blast.
And don't sell yourself short Rolf; my track shows 1600m of climbing over 115km

That's only 100m shy of the Whistler Gran Fondo!
I'm in for next time too

Weird. Mine originally said 2700m and then later dropped. But I guess I can't complain with Free!
Anyone else have data to compare?

Barton - yes it was me that gave you the tube. It was a great ride - good pace for the distance and hills and great scenery. I have almost 1600m of climbing on my garmin. Thanks for organizing it. http://app.strava.com/activities/51013913
