Classic tale Kate! sorry to hear you got bitten by the winter curse and it's really hard to stomach your own DNF decision but the deep humbling effect of your own defeat will make that next (even small victory) taste so sweet. See you on the hills..

Hi Kate...at least you got over there and made it to the starting line, which is more than most of us can claim. Dare I refer you to one of your own inspirational posts? http://kateweber.com/2013/03/21/balance-baby/

I'm with John on this one. It takes more than most realize to stand on a start line. I'm proud of you for opening up to vulnerability and putting yourself out there.

Kudos to you! ~jen

This sounds like propaganda from communist pinko bicycle riders or teachers unions. If any impressionable youngsters are tuning in at this time, please turn off your computer and go bang out a hard, hilly 50 miles. Especially if you've already ridden today - remember, doubles are worth more than the sum of their miles. So sayeth my former Eastern Bloc coach, Dieter. He knew his stuff. And that stuff was winning - the most important thing.
