School Bike League Launched- Kickoff event March 29

The School Bike League was launched yesterday with a press conference at Juan de Fuca velodrome, where the league will host 3 events. Gillian Carleton helped announce the 20 new track bikes and the start of the league.

The 20 new rental track bikes brings the total number up to 42 which will be used at BikeJam, the kickoff try-it event, the school league velodrome event, and FastTrack, the GVVA youth development program.

Tripleshot contributed significantly to the planning and launch, through member Eric Simonson as the commissioner of the school league, the club hosting the road event Tuesday April 30th at western speedway, coach time (me) to help with planning, Joanna Fox contributed media expertise that got great attendance, and political support for the grant that got the new bikes.

Tuesday May 27, Westshore Velodrome, Colwood, GVVA, Clinic followed by timed events
Tuesday June 4 FreeRide ThreeRide: Pump, Jump and Dual Slalom, North Saanich Freeride Park, Oak Bay Bikes

To ride, approach your school. If they don't have a team, offer to start one, with as few as 1 or 2 kids. All you need is the principals approval. No fees.
