Toronto councillor seeks to permit riding side-by-side

I wonder if there's a similar law reform move to be done here? Pretty sure s. 183(2)(d) of the BC Motor Vehicle Act takes the question firmly away from municipalities, unlike the comparable Ontario law as suggested by this article. But it may be worth keeping tabs on this Toronto story and seeing if there's some good evidence they rely on that may find traction here.

Does anyone know if Cycling BC undertakes any active advocacy on this point (now that they're freed somewhat from internecine warfare)?

hopefully that law will eventually get updated. it's pretty outdated.

47 states allow two up riding.

My dream road-rule change would codify what we do anyway, and treat four-way-stops as four-way-yields for bikes. I think Oregon (Colorado?) does this.

Totally agree with that. Although tuesday and friday morning TS rides usually treat 4 way stops more like they're not even there.
