Not being a smartass here:

Define "experience." I've been riding my bike since I was five. Touring seriously on and off since 17. Heavy triathlon training and racing, and group training rides for 24 months. CX for five. Road racing, like, never.

Do I qualify?

Kate

Hi Kate sorry I'm not involved with the study however my understanding is they are looking for participants that could be described as "weekend warriors" - people who enjoy cycling and have made a significant commitment to it with three years experience or less and who do it as a recreational past time. No former pro's though.

Sure email him if you like not sure how sticky they are with the three years experience?

Cheers ~ Richard

I recently enjoyed a thorough and thoughtful 45-minute interview with Paul, the research associate helping with this study. I'm sure someone who talks less than I do could wrap it up in less time.

I wouldn't worry excessively about whether or not you meet the criteria; if you ride with Tripleshot, you very likely meet the research design. From the consent form:
Thank you for deciding to participate in the research study titled Understanding the Group Ride.

Purpose and Objectives
The purpose of this research is to learn more about your experience as a cyclist and how cycling impacts other parts of your life.

Importance of this Research
Research of this type is important because it will help both in furthering our understanding of how being a part of a physically active social group influences other parts of our lives and may also aid in finding ways to help people develop stronger connections to physical activity.

Participants Selection
You are being asked to participate in this study because you have identified yourself as someone for who cycling is a significant part of your life.
It's a pilot study, so they only require a handful more participants. I encourage you to reach him at 778-967-1607 or pfmeakin@googlemail.com to set up an in-person appointment wherever and whenever convenient.

Did I mention Paul's Scottish? I could listen to a brogue all day...
