Congratulations to Pookie who got his first podium finish at CoTR #5 at Transfer Beach. He is racing in the meanest category of CoTR, the Master Meanies. I have been told that there have been races when a Master racer took both hands off his handle bars to take another racer out, or Starfish in the first sprint and take out the field.
First place went to the Fastest Man in the World who raced on a SingleSpeed and than raced in the Expert race in a Captain Underpants costume.
Congratulations for being one of the next guys in the category and a well deserved 3rd place. I hope the next 2 races are just as successful.
Next race is Nov. 11th at Western Speedways, get off the fence and come out and race or cheer Pookie on to victory, as well as Simon, Joanna, Vanessa, Jim Pauley, the Juniors and anyone else I forgot to mention

Re: Pookie Podiums at Transfer Beach
Thanks, Glenowyn. Congratulations to your determination to overcome a major mechanical (pedal falling off crank) and convince someone to give up their bike so you could finish the race!! Try that tactic out at a road race...I don't think so.
It is great to see Tripleshotters out in pretty much all categories, and cheering along the course. The number of juniors, and mini-Tripleshotters is inspiring.
Nothing hurts as much as CX, however, the smiles, cheers and beers are the perfect medicine to aid the pain. Looking forward to seeing the biggest contingent of argyle out for the final Victoria race of the season!

¡Hasta la victoria siempre!
Re: Pookie Podiums at Transfer Beach
When the pedal came off and stuck to my foot and I made the decision to keep going forward, I felt pretty confident that I would come across someone who would lend me a bike. One of the first people I came across was Trevor Mckenzie, Chopper Dan and Tom and Jenny Skinner, without hesitation they started modifying her bike to fit me. I jumped back into the middle of the Masters Meanies category and found out how tough they are. When I would finally get past a racer, they realized that they had been chicked and must of the time rally back and repass me. This was great because I was ready to rally back and it meant my race was still on. I was able to catch the last woman and right near the end get Jen in my sites, I should have changed where the finish line was and than I would have caught her too. I never had the lonesome thoughts that happen when I get into No Mans Land Position. It was a beautiful spot to have a race and even more special that everyone is so supportive to keep anyone in the race, just so we can all suffer together
