Former Olympian run down by car while on training ride

Reminds me of riding in Newfoundland a few years back. Cars would pull up alongside me, roll down their windows, and then hurl verbal abuse at me while keeping pace. Some cars even had little kids in the back seat. Then they'd speed up and the next car would slow down to take its turn. After a while it all took on a definite Pythonesque feeling (i.e. Newfoundlanders can swear quite creatively).
