May 5th - Sidney TT

First one is up this Tuesday. C'mon all Tripleshotters..... its going to rock! TT's are a great way to dip your toes into racing without any issues about being in a pack going around a sketchy corner. Its just you killing the pedals on a nice flat course..... See you all there!

Riding out? Switch bridge at 5:15 (? - Roland/Bill/ John how long to ride out?)

Time Trials Details

We hold an 18-km time trial every Tuesday evening from May through August.

Date: Every Tuesday evening from May through August

Time: Sign on at 6:30 PM, Racing at 7 PM (6:15 and 6:45 for the last two weeks in August)

Location: Start/finish at Cy Hampson Park in North Saanich near Sidney, B.C. on Lochside Avenue between Mount Newton Cross Road and McTavish Road

A minimum of 3 rides per season are required to win a category.

Insurance: Every rider must have proof of insurance - a Cycling BC Race License (UCI/CCA Licence or Citizen's Licence), General Membership, or Associate Membership with primary or secondary affliation to Sidney Velo. If you don't have one of these, you must buy a primary or secondary Associate Membership from Sidney Velo Cycling Club and sign a waiver to ride the time trial. See Membership in the menu for the costs of membership/insurance.

Ride Costs: $2 per time trial or $20 for the season.

It's only about 20km out, definitely under an hour. Meet at 5:45 would probably be fine.

I'll be riding out but not racing, I'll be the corner marshal at McTavish. I'm going to see if I can set a record for disqualifying the most riders.

Sadly I can't ride out now. But I should still be able to race ifmy 430-600 meeting finishes on time. Hope to see loads of Argyle out......

For future reference, it took me 45 minutes to ride out to Sidney from the switch bridge.
