I heard the news of the C crash today and certainly hope Barton is OK. Not sure if letting someone ride or make their way home on their own is such a great idea after a serious incident... Perhaps some other policy should be considered for situations like this? Barton, hope your not too badly shaken up?

Hope you are okay Barton. Heard about the accident.
I do believe someone did ride home with him.

Mark Ford rode home with him.
Just spoke to Barton and he has broken ribs, so no riding for a bit. He sounded fairly happy so the painkillers seem to be working. He said it didn't really start to hurt until he got home. Doesn't hurt anywhere else, and he didn't hit his head at all. And the bike survived the fall and the toss a la David Millar
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mIW1MAvyPD4 over the fence. Tres pro Barton!
Mark made it to coffee as well, so double points for him. Only way to beat that is if Barton had come to coffee before the hospital.
Barton has no idea why he ended up rubbing Dave's wheel and going down. The bus he hit had nothing to do with the fall, and Dave said he hadn't even changed line to go around it as they were already well to the left.
The bus passengers did comment on Barton's tackle rocking the bus; the Oak Bay High rugby coach will be calling next to get a bus for a tackling sled.
As Barton said, "I made it through all the rainy, dark and windy mornings, only to fall on a light, calm, dry sunny morning."

That is no good, hope that you are better Barton.
I really appreciated the A's sitting up when my chain broke and Bill stopping to give me his chain tool.

I glad to hear that happened Andrew. Steve and I were at the front at that moment. We slowed, but got the 'rolling' command. I had worried that you were left alone (that is, left to be rescued by the B group).
Sorry to hear about your injuries Barton.

Hey Barton...Good to hear you are generally ok.....I was concerned about the teeth when I saw some blood in your mouth, but after talking with you before you got up ,it seemed like a small inner lip cut.
Good to hear the head, helmet and bike are OK. You will be back soon ,I am sure ....for another 400km long weekend! regards,pc
