ok, last ride of the year. I need 161.82km to complete the Festive 500 so I am committed (yup, really I am Josh
) to doing the Sufferfest (at a reasonable steady pace) and then hooking up with the OBB ride. That should be good for around 180 and a CLOTH PATCH!!!
Sounds like a few folks are interested in the Sufferfest (Sylvan needs the double as well) so why not have everyone out? Help us achieve Rapha glory! 6am Cook St. Starbucks.
As for the rest of you slackers - Happy New Year. Here's to a super (and safe) 2012 on the bike.

With an invitation like that, how could I refuse

I need 227 km. If I rode to Renfrew and back that would not be enough. That is a measure of the enormity of this challenge. I'm kind of screwed. I rode 71 km on day 1, took five days off, rode 202 km yesterday, and now I'm all messed up. No ride today. See you at 6 am. I might suck lots of wheel tomorrow. I apologize in advance. This is a disgrace.

if you can maybe go do 60-75' in the little ring (i.e. 24-26km/h) spinning the legs. It will make your legs feel better and also give you a real shot at getting the 500.
either way Chapeau and see you in the am. I'll be the guy at the back all morning!

Not if I can help it...after doing 115km this morning with Mark/Al/Paul the Lanterne Rouge might be me! It was windy enough that it almost made me homesick.
I only need 58km tomorrow, so I may turn back after Island View.

I am in for one lap - 6am. Sounds like John T and Calgary Steve are in too, so it should be a good ride.

you bunch of slackers
,
sylvan, I like your style though, trying to get 430km in two days. If you do it, you should be able to save a sh*t-tonne of money getting drunk tomorrow night though. One beer'll do ya.
Sorry, I'm out this week. My scheduled 10 days completely off the bike. I'll be back next week for some double action though. I did do 170km in the rain last saturday, and 516km in the 7 days leading up the 24th. Can I get a patch for that?

I decided to combine getting drunk and carbo-loading tonight, so the 195 km I need tomorrow should be easy. I also rode 32 km tonight commuting to the bar to ease the horrific task. All I have to do now is get up at 4:30 and do a few laps of Beacon Hill before starting the ride. That will mean I only need a simple Sufferfest/OBB double to hit the 500.

Got 204 km. Peter also got his required kilometrage with ease. It was a beautiful day.

I gotta thank Peter for the encouragement as he shared in this horrific ordeal. It would have been very easy to bail out if I'd been on my own out there, between the two rides especially.

Peter,John,Sylvan and other OCD Tripleshotters....How do I get my patch???? Do I need a hi tech Garmin or something? Thanks to Al.John and Mark I did about 125km Friday and 130 km Wednesday doing the Tripleshot hills and Ken Bonner 9am ride for a 9 day total of about 511km, but I will recheck my math as I dont have a Garmin!!! Now, how do I get my Patch to put on my new TSC Kit? Happy new year all, Paul C.

Challenge accepted. Double
Ocean Vodka consumed, now switching to Crown. Note that I do not encourage or condone such behaviour. Going to see a band at Monty's tonight. OK, so what is going on in Victoria when I come back after a few months away and they have bands at Monty's?!

Anything fun happening for tonight? And I'm assuming there is a hangover ride New years day?

Come to Monty's, about 9:30. I'm not riding tomorrow. I'm doing the Harrier run at Beaver Lake at 10:00.
