Rain Shell

I am looking for a rain shell, breathable or not. I am tired of being soaked by the rain! I don't mind a bit of sweat, I just want to stay dry!

Anyone have one they want to unload or any suggestions where to buy one for less than my weekly family grocery bill?

Barton.

I've worn this one, I got used at a garage sale. Like everything else, it's not fully waterproof, but seems to keep most water out and breathes a bit. I like it. Very compact.

I also used this one for several 2 hour rain rides and surprisingly, it's not bad either. I certainly stayed warm enough, and it vents a bit to keep from getting too humid inside. Stiffer and less stretchy than the sugoi. Transparent enough to see your sponsors and number through in races.

Maybe do a group buy? Several juniors need rain jackets. Haven't checked if Champion has one similar.

One warning on the cheaper jacket. When I wore my MEC Drencher waterproof gloves under the sleeves in heavy rain, the mesh panels let in enough water to fill up the gloves from above. Filled the bottom of the fingers up about an inch. One occasion where I wouldn't have minded the gloves leaking (out!), but they didn't. :)

It's not the jacket. My Drenchers seem to fill up regardless of what I am wearing.

Just don't raise your arms above your shoulder. The water will run down your sleeves and eventually into your shoes
