All schools mtb ride, Sundays 2:00 Hartland

Pass along to families of 11-17 year olds that might be interested.
A number of parents and teachers from lower island middle and high schools are promoting an informal all-schools ride Sundays at Hartland at 2. The idea is to have several schools come, and then organize riding groups by interest and experience. Or gender. Or bike colour, if that's what people want.
This past Sunday, we had 13, 4 adults and 9 students, aged 11-17. (and two dogs.) Ranged from beginner to advanced intermediate. 4 schools represented. TS roadies David, Duncan, Brenna and Alex rode, along with former mtbr, now roadie/trackie Evan.
We rode a loop of mostly green and blue trails, for a 2.5 hour ride. For those that know the park, we did TTA, Regional, Kokanee Highway, Crossover, a grunt up Bottom Feeder, then to the top of Fun Trail, then back down the full length of it for about 25 turns, most bermed , then Say Ahh, Darryl's Dive, Crossover, N trail (more berms!), Madonna, Head's Up, Two Trees, Kokanee, and Shock treatment. The route had several short cuts back to the parking lot planned in case someone ran out of gas, and two took advantage.
As roadies, Duncan and David were nervous, having not mtb'd in ages, but found their cross experience made them quite comfortable. Brenna and Alex said it was noticeably different from last winter's mtb, after a cross season this year. In fact, the only fall was former downhiller Evan, upping the ante on the Joey's ok internal junior team competition with a full-on superman flight. Different landing than SM would have done tho. Mostly pride hurt.
Most of the juniors are away this Sunday at the Burnaby track camp, but other schools are planning on going. If anyone is interested for this sunday, I can connect you with the parents from other schools, and you can start this week. Or wait for us for next week. Pot luck dinner after planned.
