Also you get to rub shoulders with national level riders, who also volunteer, like Rob Britton, just selected for the Pan Am Games and a key Crossclub course builder, Drew (national champ medallist and world single speed champion, and Kelly Guest, national team triathlete and youth coach.
And they need you:
Hi Lister,
I am wondering if you could post this on the triple shot forum or board:
This Monday, October 10th is race #3 in the Cross on the Rock Cyclocross series (http://www.crossontherock.com) at Topaz Park in Victoria. The race bible with all the details will be posted on the COTR website this Friday.
WE ARE IN NEED VOLUNTEERS! If you are available to help, please contact Drew Mackenzie at dmackenzie@cscpacific.ca
For this October 10th event to be a success we need vollies. Please consider helping out and also please spread the word.
This is one of two major Cyclocross events that Victoria puts on and it would be much appreciated if we could get some support from anyone you know within your network and club connections.
Volunteering does not mean that you won't be able to race. The more people we have to help the less work any one person has to do.
We need people who will be able/willing to help out with the following roles:
· Course Set up (8:00am -10:00am) 15 people
· Registration (9:00am – 1:55pm) 4-5 people throughout day
· Timing - in shifts throughout day of racing, see below:
11:00-11:30 - Beginner Race 2 people
12:00-12:45 - Intermediate Men’s and Women’s Race 4 people
1:00-1:55ish - Open Women’s and Master Race 4 people
2:15-3:15 – Expert 2 people
· Course Maintenance aka “Course Gnomes” (throughout day) - 2 vollies
(Basically re-tying caution tape that gets broken.)
