Neutral Lap

Post by Jbooyah »

Just a note on safety/etiquette. While spooling up for the sprint around Beacon Hill we had a car pull into our lane. It has been suggested that we neutralize the lap and do one more when something like this happens. Someone up front saying "shut it down", or "neutral lap" and it getting passed back like when coming to a light.

Great work today from everyone.

We did a good job today of shutting it down up on the box when we came up behind the car leading into our sprint.

I shut it down right as we came up on that car on the beacon final lap, as I saw we were going to catch the other group right at the line as well. Remembering the idea of a being able to call neutral lap if we don't have a clear run at our beacon sprint is a great idea. Much better to do an extra lap and sprint when it's safe.

Nice pulls today Jeff.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

I haven't been out on Tuesdays much, so I was unaware of the neutral lap arrangement. I didn't hear anyone say "shut it down" or "neutral lap", if I had I wouldn't have carried on around the park at speed. Good to know though, and I will be more aware next time.
Another "rule" I would like to bring up is not to cross the yellow line into the oncoming lane. I saw this happen a few times in the A group. For some reason we were sometimes way over on the right of our own lane (Dallas Road/Hollywood Crescent area) and some of us crossed the yellow line into a blind corner. Yikes. I don't want to think of the consequences had there been oncoming traffic. Let's be more aware of this. Thanks. Other than that, good work by everyone!
