TS Juniors raced today at the BC Track Championships, and won four of their five races. The boys (Evan, Liam, David and Duncan) won the team pursuit against a stronger team from Aviawest. By riding together from the start and pacing themselves, while the VAC riders started blazingly fast, but had trouble keeping it together, TS took the lead in the last lap or two and won by a second. Special applause to David Brown who was third man across the line, despite suffering even in the warm-up. Here's a guy who rises to the occasion, and a team that does it, together.

Farisha, Alex and Brenna won the girls 2000m by over a 10 seconds, riding a new PB for themselves and the new u17 track record.

In the team sprint, Duncan, Evan, and Liam started fast, and looked good, but were 3 seconds off VAC. Turned out we had not checked Duncan's gear and he was a full gear (46 x 15 vs a 14) under-geared.

Brenna and Alex went under a minute in the team sprint, well up on second, with Alex having a noticeably fast last lap. Will check splits and post.

Farisha hadn't planned on doing the team sprint, but was recruited to give a Vancouver rider Lisa Perlmutter, nationals medalist, a team mate. They did the fastest time of the night for women.

FANTASTIC!! Our juniors rock and so does Lister for all the time and effort he puts in with them. Great reports Lister I think the most impressive stuff in there is the level of teamwork they displayed. From a perfomance perspecitve that is truly excellent. Ok, the results are cool too but its the performances that matter.

Well done all! Looking forward to hearing more from today & Sunday

I didn't get a chance to post earlier but I want to tell you guys how proud I feel to have watched you turn your potential into fantastic results! I won't single anyone out but suffice it to say many of you dug deep enough and pushed through the 'wall', finding that extra little reserve and exceeding your own expectations. Well done. One of the gifts of competitive sport is learning to believe in new possibilities rather than the limits we once accepted were set in stone. Now you know! Bravo for your courage in pushing through those limits. :D

Much thanks to Lister for his dedication and humour and for letting me share time with you all this season. Collectively and individually, you have made a lasting impression on me.

Enjoy, reflect, find new challenges, chase them with the same energy and dedication and there's no limit to what you can accomplish.
