Hi gang,

I'm a rider from Arizona and I'll be visiting this week. It looks like you have a fun group here and I'd like to join in the fun. If I get an early enough flight tomorrow, I'll do the B race at the Speedway, then try and hit a couple group rides. I'm fender-challenged (it doesn't rain in AZ!), so I'll be solo if it's wet. Stoked to be doing some riding up there and looking forward to meeting you guys!

Welcome Brent. We meet at a place called the switch bridge at 5:15 to ride out to the speedway if you are here in time. Maybe a member more google-savvy than I can post a map of that spot. Otherwise we'll see you on a group ride. You can still do the ride in the rain, just hang out at the back of the group.

Hi Brent,

Switch Bridge is here. It's the meeting of three major bike paths that run off to the south, west and northeast from this point. The paths should be marked on Googlemaps as well: the Galloping Goose and the Lochside Trails.

Be aware that from 5-8 p.m. tomorrow, Victoria will look like The War of the Worlds. You could probably ride down the middle of the highway and not see a soul. It's Game 1 of the Stanley Cup playoffs, featuring the Vancouver Canuckleheads.

Look forward to seeing you out on a group ride while you're here. Happy riding...

I'll be out between 5-8. There's a bike race to go to. :)

Not everyone in this country is a fan of that silly, head injury prone sport.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I made it up here yesterday, but without my bike. The airline I fly for decided to change their baggage policy for employees and I couldn't justify $400 for 4 days of riding. To say I was incensed is an understatement. I'll be back soon and maybe I'll FedEx the bike that trip. Cheers!
