Awesome ride today.
Ryan, Myself and Neil from IRC got away from the group on the first hill on west saanich after turning off lands end, and kept a solid hard 3 man TT after that.
We did the extra loop over millstream lake rd, then back over munns, across on prospect lake rd to west saanich, and back in on interurban.
Ryan had me seriously in the red with some hard attacks on a couple of the climbs on millstream lake rd. Neil was an animal. He's a big, strong guy, but he gets that bike up the hills too. Ryan and I would typically get a gap on him on the climbs, and he would claw back, every time, on the next flat or downhill.
I managed to get away a little over the top of munns rd, but got reeled back in on the descent. We rode it back across prospect lake rd together, trying to keep the legs from giving out.
I tried a bit of an early sprint on the second to last rise on interurban, went as hard as I could, got a gap, and tried to hold it for the finish. No such luck. Ryan was able to close it right before the line and came by with a big grin, and his tongue hanging out. Great ride. I had nothing left by the end.
Couple more rides like that, and we'll be ready to rock race the ridge.

I had a great ride today too. One of the largest Sufferfest groups I've seen, at least it was at 6:00am.
The group got split up on the fast approach to Mattick's - regrouped by Mitchell's and then was split up again on the big TTT up the highway. The two groups almost reconnected by Sidney, but then group 2 pulled into the Sidney rest stop, while group 1 continued/disappeared through the "Sidney feed zone".
Group 2 then did the Wain Road, West Saanich, Wallace Rd, Interurban trip. As Josh mentioned, group 1 did the ferry terminal to the left hand turn and double climb onto West Saanich.
Two tri-guys joined today (one ended up in each group), hope to see you guys again.
Somethings discussed during the Sidney break was fact that the separation into Sufferfest-Classic and Killer B's is not always clear. We could sort right at the start, but would prevent some killer B's from testing their metal with the fastest guys/girls. An idea that came up was for the Killer B's to stop at either Mattick's or Sidney or both. You self-identify by stopping (Killer B) or not (Sufferfest-Classic).
This means no one gets left behind, but no one has to steady up either.
