Good ride this morning. Half of alce elegante, including the moose were conspicuously missing :P , but we did pick up one gorilla named Mighty Chris Fraser, a monster of absolute sustained power output on the flats, and who despite having an "extra two stones" (his words, not sure if I should be offended) to haul up the hills was able to hang up all of them. The ride was steady from the get go, and started to pick up along cordova bay when Sean got hurled off the front by some mysterious force.
I added an extra 1 1/2 waterfronts at the end for a total of 118km before grabbing a quick coffee. The sensations were good for me today, as my rest day got moved from thursday to friday this week due to work.

Greg, we sat up to regroup just after matticks, and then rode back to see if we could find you. Did you head for home?

After celebrating a friend's birthday last night I thought I could tough out a sufferfest - probably not my finest moment. Josh, Sean, Chris F and Greg are not the easiest to ride with (keep up with) when they're on a mission, and blurry vision and an unsettled stomach are not great companions either.

After being dropped I still managed 85 km with the fastest stretch being 5km behind an army truck at 45km/hr.

No regrets. I'll be out next Saturday.....

I did the Oak Bay ride and had bad sensations right from the start - riding from home at 24 km/h - so it would have been very terrible if I'd tried to do the Sufferfest. I ended up doing a wheelsuckerfest just to make it to Interurban and lamely rolled home. Glad you had a good one. I'll be there soon I hope...

I haven't ridden more than 50km since the Whister Gran Fondo, so I figured now is time to get some base miles in. I did 80km Zone 2 mostly solo until I got picked up by the OBB ride about 15km from home, and finished the ride with them.

When I got home, Gleno wanted to mountain bike, so I ate and headed back out for another 31km.

2 hours 56 minutes moving time on the road bike, 2 hours 29 minutes moving time on the mountain bike.

Solid day of riding.

That doesn't sound like suffering, that sounds like fun.

With my current fitness, I was suffering. I wanted to cry until Glen gave me a cookie and some sharkies.
