next week the plan is to start doing the full loop at hammerfest speed again, as race season will soon be upon us.

Tomorrow will mark the end of the season for the "only moderately painful" winter pace sufferfest ride.

Anybody want to get some km's in their legs?
5:45 meeting, 6:00 AM rolling from cook st starbucks

Should roll in at about 6:55, if we get away on time (by 6:05).

The sufferfest today. It was so cold, so terrible. It got colder and colder and colder. And then on Interurban there was all this snow or something in the middle of the road that I ran over and almost bailed. Be careful out there.

I was the caboose on the pain train today (yes, that little car at the back that does nothing)
Sylvan, Josh were fine engines, as was mocha house guy (who, by the way, is Peter/Mike size and most excellent to draft behind). Temperature was very very cold and actually dropped during the ride, but the sunrise in Sidney was very very beautiful and made it worth the trip.

(apologies to mocha house guy. I'm pretty sure you told me you name, but I think my brain was frozen and I forgot)

The mind-numbing cold coming back along west-saanich was offset by some pretty spectacular frost covered morning panoramas. Wasn't quite enough to overcome the slow, inevitible shut down of the body as the cold starts to win out in the third hour, but it did make it considerably less miserable. Coming down the hill on west saanich to the red barn has to be a new record for coldest I've been on a bike.
I stopped at discovery coffee on the way home, and warmed my hands up under the sink in the bathroom. PAIN!. Ran into Katie there and talked for a bit, but I couldn't stop shivering the whole time.
