We might even have another dry day!

Peter and I were talking about this route to avoid getting caught in the west coast rain/snow.

I've done it once before, only we started at the ferry. It's long. We could head straight up millstream rd instead of finlayson arm if we're feeling weak and pathetic. People could also peel off as required by their schedules.

I am in for Saturday Morning (assuming no ice). HOWEVER - I am a week and slow Lawless so I am keen on a B type ride (not an A+, bleeding from your eyes type ride). I like the idea of a common start and then a earlier turnaround for the B group to rejoin for Coffee at the end...

I'm in. Looks safer than Jordan River, although maybe just as painful.

I am definitely down with a B-ish version of this ride on Saturday.

probably in - depending on the temperature. It is 0 degrees on West Saanich now, so we'll see.

Pretty good now. 5-6 degrees on the whole route, except 3 on Millstream.

Missed ya, fellas. You must have left Buckies on the stroke of 6?

I hit the Marina by 6:15 and rode back along the water -- with only a brief CX sojourn onto the golf course trails -- but couldn't find you.

Probably a good thing, given my current "Christmas party" training program. I could only manage 15 into that headwind and bits of lung were flying.

Sorry we missed you Rolf - we went the other way. Out the Goose, around Esquimalt lagoon, Metchosin Road. Brian and I bailed at Happy Valley and rode back in. The rest of them are still out there suffering over the hills and into the wind.

We built so much character today!

I think we had about five minutes of tailwind at the airport and the rest consisted of headwinds, crosswinds, and uphill. I can barely put words together at this point so I'll leave a better synopsis to someone else.

No, not 'til about 6:15. Were you at Fairfield instead of Cook St.?

No, I got up late, so I tried to head you off at the pass by heading along OB Ave. to the Marina for 6:15, thinking I'd just ride the route backwards and meet up. But like I said, I was probably fortunate to have some forced solo conditioning; 5 weeks off has put me back to square zero.

I already knew we were all capable of doing pretty dumb things individually.
Today I gained a new appreciation for how much dumber of ideas we can come up with when we put our heads together. It's quite awe inspiring to witness.
Thanks to Sylvan and Shawn for being every bit as dumb as I am. 143km with 2000m of climbing is a new december record for me. Climbing finlayson arm rd instead of going up millstream was the icing on the cake. Yay us!! :D

We should keep pushing the envelope with a renfrew ride. That would put us at real risk of someone dying of hypothermia if we have a mechanical.
