Hi everyone!

In case you are having trouble getting motivated to get out on your bike today, there is a spin class tonight at 6pm at ProCity. It's a pretty good time and usually a lot of people turn out. Just bring your trainer and give'r! Mike Neill (Ironman athlete and incidentally my tri coach) runs it and he is awesome!

Stay warm!

Lindsay..You may enjoy a series of triathlete observations I have collected and written that I occasionally add to:

You know you are a24/7 Trigeek when: you can easily recite your front and back gear combination's[and know what they mean] but you are not sure of your spouses birthday or your anniversary date..[ I guess this one could apply to roadies too!]

You know you are a24/7 triGeek when: you pay $6000 for your new 16.5 lb Cervelo[with Bento Box of course] but you ride with 3 full large bottles of water, weighing 6 pounds, even though after 1 hour you stop for coffee...At least one bottle MUST be behind your seat in a carbon fibre cage to save weight.

You know you are a 24/7 Tri Geek when: you do your indoor bikeTrainer or spin class cause you don' t want to get your Cervelo wet or dirty. Extra points if you have a Computrainer with next seasons Triathlon bike routes on it.[ Please, no drafting in those spin classes]

More to follow....from Paul C., former tri geek ,starting in 1983 ,and getting ready for a TRI comeback in 2011!

You know Paul, acknowledging what you are is a big step of the way to redemption. I think you should call yourself a recovering triathlete.

PS For 'recovering' roadies:
You know you're a roadie when:
you build a desk with a spinbike for a chair
you tell your partner you "need a cross bike" for skill development and you will use it for commuting, but know darn well you need both (# bikes you need = N + 1, N = the bikes you have)
You can remember every detail from the first acceleration to the final throw of the bike to the line...in a training sprint.
You worry about every squeak and creak and will strip down the bike to find it. And feel ridiculously satisfied when you do.
You know where the store windows are that let you check out your position in the reflection.
You can talk for hours about group formations and how to make them work
You'd rather nap at parties than miss a morning ride
More? Help us take the first step to recovery.

This is a good time to do a book recommendation.

ROADIE :The Misunderstood World of a Bike Racer

This book is hilarious and will leave you feeling not so alone with your affliction. Share it with your non-cycling friends and spouses if you dare. This book was a great read. Available through VeloPress or locally at Chapters.

You could try Bolen Books too, though their online search didn't find it.
