HST on gear order

Hi Everyone

So, Champ-Sys is hitting us with HST.
Apparently in the past we haven't been charged GST, as champ-sys did not have a GST number in their American office, so it was left to customs to collect, which they never actually did.

Geoffs fall order got charged GST, as they had moved Canadian Sales to the new "Canadian office" c/w GST number, but no HST number at the time of the fall order. I wasn't aware that we had been hit with GST on that one.

I'm extremely sorry to have to do this, but the prices in the gear order have been updated to reflect the additional 12%. If I could ask everyone to pay the difference, it'd be very much appreciated. Not a huge rush, sometime in the next few weeks is fine.

I know it's a pain in the ass, and I'm sorry for the screw up. Rest assured it's a bigger pain in the ass for me.

fyi, the "est. cdn price" was higher than I remember paying before, but can't recall exactly, but $25 more than the US price. Then when I hit the paypal button, it asked me for $12.67, which seemed like the hst total. I paid that. Correct?

correct.

The old prices were 13% markup rounded down to the nearest dollar as the fundraiser. The new prices are 25% (12%+13%) rounded down to the nearest dollar.

The new prices got applied to your standing order, so any balance showing up = what you owe after HST. If you previously paid, it's just the HST.

Clear as mud?

Alternately, if you click "show entire order" at the top and scroll to your name, it'll show your outstanding balance.

Don't apologize, Josh. If anything, it's a failure to communicate by Champsys.

I wonder how many BC Liberal votes that $1,200+ just lost?

Legally, the tax payable on bicycle clothing before July 1 was 12% [5% GST and 7% PST except children's], so nothing changed on the tax front except the government's efficiency in collecting, not that I'm trying to defend the government which would be a suicide mission as would trying to repeal Josh.
