CX Double Header: Glotman Simpson CX & Atomic CX

Post by Roland »

Damnit people, stay for your podium. I should have got to move up a step.

And a photo for our sponsors:

The sandbagging continues today. A win today means I'll move up to Cat 3. Otherwise I need to do as well as 3rd today and the next remaining race to Cat up this year.

Go Roland!

You the man, Roland. That photo alone might be enough to renew their sponsorship for next year, though one might gather from the photo you were less than happy with the accommodation...

Mission accomplished. Top step of the podium. I'm now Cat 3. The guy who won Cat 4 yesterday won Cat 3 today.

Accommodations were good. It's hard to take a photo of yourself and a hotel at night with your phone.

Nice work Roland. How do the mainland courses compare to the ones over here?

I'd say most similar to the two Victoria courses. They are a bit wider and flow better. Less super tight corners. They actually have straight sections. Generally I say there is less going in per lap. The technical sections are just as tricky, there is just less of them. Today especially was mostly about fitness. There was only on tricky bit, a zig zag descent. The rest was either super soggy grass or an evil climb.

And my front wheel won the Cat 1/2 race. Drew needed a wheel change and didn't bring a spare wheel. Joele also won her race. Good day for the island.
