TSC Xmas Party - December 4th

Post by Plawless »

Tentatively set for 6:30 - late on SATURDAY DEC 4TH at the Wardroom of HMCS Malahat (thanks to Mike L) which is down by Shoal Point Moka House. basic idea is TSC plus signifcant others. We should have some free booze courtesy of the wonderful Spinnakers sponsorship but people will probably want to bring a little something extra for themselves.

The bigger issue is food. We wont have access to a kitchen so we can choose to either make it some sort of weird potluck and use the microwave to heat thing OR maybe if we all kicked in say $10 per person we could see about some catering option?

So lets see if we can get some feedback on this pretty quickly so we can make a decision.

thanks all.

Polls on the forum are still broken, maybe I'll have time to fix it tonight.

Can't make Dec 4th, but potluck seemed to work last time we did it.

Sorry for the incorrect date - it was supposed to be set for FRIDAY DECEMBER 3rd... I edited the first post to reflect the correct date so hopefully people that were out on the 4th are now in for the 3rd!

I will be coming and I will be bringing a guest. I am fine with either potluck or paying $10/person.

We're in--either the potluck or $10 option is fine. I might be able to help people with directions having drank my share of beer around the Malahat Wardroom. Mike, will you give us some navy pyrotechnics to play with? I know where they keep the stuff...

Heather and I are in. And although we both love to cook, if $10 each can get us some catered appies, I think that's the way to go. Easy!

In + 1. Deb is double booked but will come a little later in the evening - kind of like a B partyer. I will join in with the A+ party. Happy to go with the group on food choice.

Count me in! Potluck or catered is fine.

I would like to see Alan ride his unicycle with beer in one hand and pyrotechnics in the other...

Sorry to everyone about the confusion over the date for the party. MALAHAT was booked for some Navy stuff on Friday night at the last minute. So, Saturday night is the final date - the Wardroom balcony overlooking the Inner Harbour will more than make up for the change in dates!

It would be helpful to get a sense of numbers attending. So, if I can trouble everyone to indicate if they will be coming I can arrange for the correct number of recruiting packages to be available at the Brow (or maybe just to get a solid sense of numbers so I can decide on Duty Watch requirements -think naval security forces to ensure the fun and excitement at the Christmas party.)

Thanks

So, Peter, I understand there's a party on BOTH Friday and Saturday? Awesome.

Sadly, I've got competing parties both nights; one which I'm obliged to attend and the other for which I've already bought tickets. :( :( :( :(

... and I've always wanted to see what being a drunken sailor is like.
