Run for the Cure

Post by mlawless »

All,

At the risk of adding a non-cycling thread to the forum...

Who is interested in doing the Run for the Cure on Sunday at UVic?

This is a 5k run/walk/push/pull/drag/crawl event. It is NOT a race - no timing chips or mats just a generic Go! There are quite a few closet runners in Tripleshot so - out you come for a good cause. The rest of you should come as well - we could even ride up to UVic and then do the Run - the cleats might be tricky for you non-triathletes but it will certainly add to the entertainment factor! I think we could all wear our Tripleshot Jersey/Vest as well - Argyle in a sea of pink - Absolutely Dreamy!

So who is with me?

Michael

The information on the run is:

CIBC RUN FOR THE CURE - RUN DAY

This year's run is on October 3rd at the University of Victoria. If you have any additional registration or donation forms, please bring them to the registration tent between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.

Opening ceremonies will begin at 8:35 a.m., and the run will commence at 9:00 a.m. There are two routes - 1 kilometre and 5 kilometres. You can find a copy of the route map here: http://www.runforthecure.com/site/DocSe ... ?docID=736

You and your team are more than welcome to walk, jog, or run the route. Dogs on leash and strollers are permitted. Bicycles, scooters, skateboards and inline skates are not.

Awards will be handed out at 10:00 a.m.

Michael,

Thanks for posting about this fun chance for a bit of social cross training - I am really excited about giving it a go this Sunday at UVic.

Where shall we meet?

Oh, who else is interested?

Typically I'd be all over some real training, but I"m out of town this weekend.

In order to keep the non-cycling thread going, anyone interested in entering a TS team into the Thetis Lake Relay on Nov 11? 5K loop x 4 runners.

Shouldn't you be more concerned about how you are going to pay for your gear order before the deadline which is TOMORROW!

Hey, ever think of recruiting for a political party, Mike?

If I go, does this mean I can post my son's track club fund raiser, Thanksgiving turkeys (free rang organic)? (Looking for approval that this falls in the acceptable off topic post category. )

Seeing as we're all getting in on the off-topic posts (and to possibly hasten the arrival of the new Pickle Juice thread), did you know there's now cyclocross for cars?

Sorry, Roland. And good luck with your run, Michael.

Ok Mike, I'll join you so you don't have to spend the morning talking to yourself.

Where do we meet?
