Anybody up for the Russ Hay's ride tonight? Or is everybody tired from the secret Thursday ride?

I'm heading out now, doing a Friday route and will meet the group around the breakwater.

That is a hard, hard ride right there. I was struggling about 24th and dead last wheel flying past Glenlyon/Norfolk and figured I wouldn't last past the Uplands. Lots of stop/start because of slow cars made it tough. Wasn't enjoying the back so I launched a bit on the yacht club climb to get up past mid-pack, then launched again heading up to 10-mile point which meant I was in the lead paceline with 8 other guys but was completely fried and destroyed. My last effort was to motion to the guy behind me and tow him up to the guy infront before pulling the plug at the 4-way stop on Arbutus. B-bye. The first chase pack of 3 guys went past halfway up Arbutus, I was still fried, b-bye, then Roland, resplendent in Symmetrics skinsuit, and one other dude caught me at the top and we worked it to Mt. Doug where they shelled me, too. B-bye. The next part of the ride, Mattick's Farm to the Interurban sprint, was a bit better, but I opened up the sprint too early and got crushed by several superior athletes. The best part is my ticker finally hit 200 bpm for the first time in a few years so I think I'm getting fitter or dumber. How long 'til the Friday ride, 9 hours?
