Bike to Work Week Victoria is seeking entries for it's commuter challenge. This is a race between a cyclist and a car to show the speed of cycling in city traffic. It's Wednesday, June 1, finishing between 7:45 and 8:00 am, at Broad and View by the Bay Centre. The start point can be anywhere, as long as you finish where the TV cameras are. 8)

Looking for an excuse to get out of doing hills? Gotta colleague you'd like to prove the benefits of cycling to? Here's your chance!

I can see Pete Lawless vs Len Barrie, tho' his hummer might flatten a few civics along the way. Alan Cassels vs. the big pharma head around here, maybe? Rob Mickelbury vs. the city planner? Or, maybe offer to drive in the race and let a non-cycling colleague feel the speed of cycling.

The competition just got hotter. Ryder Hesjedal is taking part, duelling with Jack Knox of the Times Colonist. The twist is, Jack is riding and Ryder is driving. Enter and say you beat Ryder Hesjedal!
