Hi Martin and all,

I had wanted to join you for this ride but this weekend doesn't work unfortunately. Have a great trip and be safe on the descents .... you should have perfect weather.

Hi Martin,

I would like to go, but have to meet my daughters on Sunday afternoon to book flights to Europe and accommodation...places are booking up fast for Sept!

Will a 5am rollout get us up to the ferry with enough time? I think that would be cutting it very close, given that we have to park, buy a parking pass, unload bikes, buy ferry tickets, etc. The last thing we want to do is miss the ferry by 5 minutes. Should we look to leave Alpha St by 4:45am?

4:45 probably makes more sense for roll-out.

Google maps puts the drive at 1:22 without traffic. I assume we can beat that by a bit, but even a 4:45 departure will probably require us to move pretty swiftly once we park up there.

Until further notice, assume 4:45 rollout, though further discussion is welcome.

Thanks for posting Kevin about the early roll out. Travel time is usually very fast at that time of day depending on how your on the bike speed converts to personal driving speed. Weekend and summer traffic might slow things down however including getting processed as a walk on passenger. 4:45am roll out sounds great even to have a few spare moments to get coordinated before the ferry departs.

Given the current numbers:

Drivers:
Martin, passenger capacity, 2
Kevin, passenger capacity, 2
Tim, passager capacity, 1 (due to double bike rack, not seats)

Passengers:
Barton
Kenji

I was thinking of leaving the car at home and catching a lift as well. Any objections?

Does anyone going have a garmin 800 to download the route? I have a 510 but does not show streets. Download the route if you can.

Tim,

Check the forum in the morning, but as long as 2 or more extra passengers haven't posted that they want to come, we can do it with 2 cars.
