I had a great time, and even though I'm pathetically stiff today, I'm in. (I was holding off to see if i could work around my wimpy/recovering-from-injury shoulder.)
Ditto me. Played Ultimate with the youth team tonight. I have ibuprofen beside the bed in case I need help in the morning.

Lister, I'm sad you didn't get an amazing photo of me playing handball. (Using Photoshop to lie is okay.) When I was in goal I was impressed that my ability to be hit by a ( admittedly ridiculously) soft foam ball was to my advantage.
Anyway - to those considering coming out on Thursday - it will be fun! (No guarantees on which type of fun.)

Alan and I had a great time. I had the opportunity to talk to Sarah, Russ and Lisa and they enjoyed it as well. We were wondering if it is possible to start the sessions January 8th because everyone is so busy over the next couple of weeks with Christmas functions and holidays into the New Year.
Cheers,
Deborah

We can discuss timing tonight, but I'm not sure that we can delay that long. The reason is that we're coordinating this to match up with dryland workouts for the Youth Team, which allows us the convenience and cost-saving of dovetailing with the youth workouts (starting as they finish). If we postpone too long, the kids move onto the track and Lister (who's coordinating both youth and adults on Tuesdays and Thursdays) would need to be in two places at once.
More about this tonight.
Cheers!

These tweaked my hamstrings, but Lisa made out fine.

Gym workouts start tonight. Read up the thread for details on the content.
$340 for 24 1.5 hour sessions over 12 weeks with a break for the holidays. Tuesday/Thursday 6:00-7:30 at Maria Montessori. Workouts so far have been super fun, and my lower back felt better after just one session.
You can sign up by paying here:

Might make a good Christmas present?
If we don't get enough people signed up, we'll pull the plug and refund people (prorated at $9.50 per class held before the plug is pulled).
Cheers and thanks!

Hi all:
Thursday and Tuesday (13th, 18th) Maria Montessori Academy have the gym set up for their Christmas concert. So, what the youth team does on these days, is do a spin class at the same time, in the school's outdoor classroom. This covered space can accommodate 20 riders on trainers out of the rain, and the kids prefer it to indoors as it's cooler. Nick will coach, and include some core and flexibility exercises alongside your bike. There are 5 or 6 trainers and 3 sets of rollers riders without can use. Post here and I'll ask the kids to leave their trainers out for you after their workout in the same spot.
To get to the outdoor classroom, head around the left (east) side of the school and you'll see a very pleasant space in the courtyard of the school, overlooking a rock garden/sculpture thing. Power available for smart trainers.
Back to normal next Thursday, and stay tuned for an update on possible first week of January workouts when i find out if the custodian will be there.
Cheers
Lister

I have an old set of steel rollers (Cinelli), they're loud but work. Although not as nice as a trainer.
I can bring them along if needed ... along with my bike and kit.

Hi all:
Looks like we’re short people to continue the gym workouts, so will have to cancel the program unless there’re folks out there who want to come, but haven’t got around to registering. The reg link is above.
Tuesday we’ll do a trainer session in the outdoor classroom with personal trainer Nick, because if the school Christmas event. Then back to the gym Thursday, then Christmas break until January 8 to March 14. All January to March sessions are in the gym. (If we get 10 more.)

Hey folks,
The plan is to proceed with tonight's workout (bring your bike and trainer for an outdoor spin--gym's being used by the school). But then unless you hear otherwise, we'll be ending the workouts after tonight. Not enough people to make a go of it. Sorry.
Thanks to Lister and Nick and Kyl for all their work to try to get this off the ground. I do think there's real merit in these workouts, but people are busy and there are other options out there. Maybe next year!
For those who've paid, I'll get your refund in the form of a cheque. I'm totally swamped with grading at the moment, so it may be a few days before I can do that.
Best,
Martin

Thanks to the club and to Lister et al for trying to get lift-off. I was optimistic I'd be able to attend, but just can't swing it among many other commitments.

Was a great spin session this evening. Many thanks to Lister for hosting and providing encouragement to the riders.
Hopefully we can try this again after a Christmas.

Looks like not enough interest to make the gym sessions work. 4 members Tuesday, 1 Thursday. So they're off unless we can figure out something.
