No Cross Club for me tonight as I'm in stuck in Vancouver too late. I'll seeya Friday morning...

I just wanted to insert into the public record that Alan C. showed up for this morning's FarmCross ride and kept up just fine on a 1932 Gary Fisher hardtail.

Don't let your lack of a purpose-built CX bike hold you back. Come have a blast with us, off-road dark and early!

I'll be at the switch bridge @ 4:45. I can also confirm that Alan was on this mornings cross ride, and that he struggled the entire distance, that is, in second position without much effort.

Psyched for a Friday rip! Let's get another one in before the rain gets here. Thinking of maybe setting up another course at Beacon Hill but we can discuss it at the start. Remember, there are no peacocks on the cross rides (though I hear Alan is coming)!

I made a brief video edit from this beautiful morning. And here are some photos:

Fozzy shows us the easiest way through a tight spot:

Alan shows us that straight bars and fat tires are just as good for these rides:

Saw this photo on Instagram this morning. It's very true! And Alan C embraced this today on his way to and from coffee (even though he was on a MTB). :D

Rolf's video, Ann's cartoon - both brilliant! Thanks to both of you.

For those who can't make it up to COTR Tugboat Cross in Ladysmith tomorrow, I'm heading out for a 50K-ish CX explore of Royal Roads. It should be fast and flowy under the falling leaves. Sunday morning, 7:30 from Fairfield 'Bucks.

I'm thinking something like this ride from last year.

Hey Geoff
Thank you leading the cross ride this morning. It always amazes me how well you know your way around through the alley ways and trails within the Victoria neighbourhoods. And in the dark too! The little cross course you set up with the pink flags was great. We got to practice cornering and maneuvering at speed.

Thanks from me as well Geoff! Next time I'd be happy to setup the course to give you a decent chance to ride it.

Tuesday Cross! Thinking of heading a little further north this time, maybe hit Greg and Louise's house for coffee/puppy time?

Bring a good light and a clip-on fender if you have one. Gonna try to keep the pace high since we will be going further but will regroup at all the major intersections. See you at 6 bells!

Sadly, some lingering sickness and morning appts means we won't be able to join you on 2 wheels or with caffeine hand-ups (tho chasing you guys would be a great workout for the pup!)

If you have time, the Vantreight park might make for a fun CX practice field some time - gravel pit around a playground, large rocks to jump over, big grass field.

Haro woods might be pretty sweet too for a quick circuit - but wish I knew the trails better.
