A peacock caused some confusion and skittering in the group Lisa was in. The bird got off unscathed but Lisa couldn't avoid the wheel in front of her and crashed. Her bike and body suffered no serious injury, but she's nursing some road rash and rattled nerves.

I don't think she visits the forum (much) but I know she appreciates the well-wishes from various sources.

Why does the wildlife insist on interfering with our morning play time? If Martin's construction update is accurate, the troublesome fowl should soon be less of an issue. At least on Thursdays.

Hey Lisa,
Sending strength to you! There's that Scottish TC Douglas saying ...
"I am hurt, but I am not slain. I shall lay me down and bleed a while, then rise and fight again."

Blair, if we don't hear from Martin or John or somebody, I'll take a quick spin up later this afternoon and give an update.

I'm not on campus today. I can report from yesterday that the cut near the Henderson entrance is patched and smooth. The cut near the stadium was still being worked on. Couldn't see how close to done it was.

I was at Uvic this morning and there was still construction going on in 2 places. One of those spots had been fixed earlier this week but was dug up again.

Yes, RRd is still crap. BHP it is!

(Is anyone else tired of the incessant wind along that course? I probably won't be the only one to celebrate the return to the ol' routine... one day.)

After months of Paris-Roubaix calling UVic to get their pave sector back, WPBSA just called to get their 578 snooker tables back.

That's right: if you're not setting effortless PR's now, its only because you're giggling too hard from the ridiculous smoothness* and utter lack of waterfowl throughout the Ring**.

Next week, I propose a Return to the Ring!

Greg

* OK, its not THAT smooth but compared to most of the roads, its polished slate.
** I did see two ducks, but they seemed to have been trained by the deer to hold position and look bored.

That explains it! Only six of us at Beacon Hill this morning.

How was the university?

I didn't see anyone else this morning so I only did one set before doing something else, but the road is definitely good to go! (unless something changes in the next 7 days....)

Greg, what else is there to do at 6:00 am? And I hope you did one set of 15 laps, otherwise we are not impressed. The 6 of us at BHP were very smooth with the exception of Lisa H. She learned that not charging your Di2 battery more than once a month means you might just get stuck doing the TTT at 120 rpm!

Will somebody with authority make an official announcement that the TTT will be moving back to UVIC?

Andrew

P.S. Thanks for the road update and the humour Greg
