Erin and Maggie. (Erin's now the u17 Canadian record holder (with Sarah) from last year, and u19 team sprint Canadian record holder from this year. Not too shabby for a coffee destination cycling club, eh?

A nice touch was the medal presenter today was Steve Bauer, who stopped by our rental house for dinner with his son Dean, visiting from Belgium where his mum lives. Lots of good stories about pro racing and what to do with a cycling career. Then Dave Attwell who was raised in South Africa, starts chatting in Afrikaans with Dean, who speaks Flemish at home. Who'd a thought there'd be that connection?

THAT'S ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!

Lister, you had me biting my nails just reading your race report. You clearly have a 2nd career ahead of you as a sports writer!

Thanks for the update, and thanks your hard work with the team. The results speak volumes.

Kidding.

Erin set a new Canadian record in 2000m, 2:27.02, beating Marianne Bonhomme's set when she was a second year u19. Erin is first year. And Erin's coach Jeff Ain thinks she has room to improve by sticking closer to her schedule.

And Sarah narrowly missed a Canadian record, but set a pb by over 10 seconds. 2:35. Over 46 kph. Only 1 sec behind Maggie Coles Lysters u17 record from last year. Van dam was incapacitated after the race, lying down for minutes by the track exit ramp. Looking better now.

Congratulations to all!! As Peter L. would say "That is Awesome!" ( with a capital "Awe" ). Well done Lister and coaches, parents/guardians/psychologists/chefs ...... your results have come from A LOT of hard work and practice. Just one question: Is the reason you go so fast to keep the bike upright? I am referring to the first attached photo. Man that is steep!
