John Webster is a trials rider from Mill Bay, who just finished 6th in the World at the UCI trials championships. http://www.uci.ch/templates/BUILTIN-NOF ... I&LangId=1 (men's elite)

http://john-webster.ca/media/video/

He wants to come to the Oak Bay Festival, but needs $500 to get his bus insured to come down with his display (and to jump off. And on. ). The festival can afford $200. Anybody with a business out there want to put your name on a stunning display of athleticism and grace? He's up for 4 x 20 minute shows, one each hour.

Thanks Duncan. Marshaling or cross course and coaching?

Thanks to Marty's Mountain Cycle, John is in!

John will do 4, 20 minute shows, one each hour of the festival. In his shows, he climbs up on, and jumps off, a bus! http://john-webster.ca/media/video/

In between, he will coach kids and adults on riding the stunts from the Monterey and Margaret Jenkins school bike clubs.

Thanks Marty!

Hey thanks a million Shawn. How old are the kids? I'm thinking under 16 or so we should put them with a parent. The marshaling is more providing a presence at barriers so drivers don't enter in front of the riders; will need some authority. Still very helpful though!

Thanks Vanessa. Do you want to lead or assist a group ride, or marshal the community ride?

Oops. I blame parent radar for "family" = kids. Sorry! Will amend volunteer list next.

Coupla more bits and pieces:

CBC radio's Gregor Craigie will MC the day, and interview the exhibitors and athletes. Bringing his 5 year old to do the ride too.

Wear your Tripleshot kit. Do your laundry if you have to!

Anjali and sage would be able to marshall or do the kid rodeo. Is there still a need?

Lister, Mich and I will be there after soccer 10:30 or 11. We will have the boys so the rodeo might be an option for us to help with.... if it is not over already.

Thanks Rita. Yes, it would be great to have them both. How about around 11 for the rodeo? Or earlier 945, if they want to do the ride. The 6 km might be short for them, but the 20 km would be doable for them both; willows to the breakwater and back.

Thanks Hugh and Michelle. The rodeo won't start until 1130 when the police are finished with the community ride. So maybe do both if you get there in time.
