Just a reminder we meet at the park. Normally we need the time to get the drills done before the traffic builds. That won't be the case tomorrow, but for consistency, we doing it that way tomorrow too.

About 10 minutes of paceline training, then two-up drag-race sprints, then leadouts. Taking turns watching for cars.

See y'all.

Hmmm. You must have a Harry Potter Invisibility Cloak... Missed you Ian. :)

8 riders, two groups for warm-ps, then drag races. Lots of discussion about what gear to use. Most found it best to start with a lower gear, then shift up, which would be the case in a race when it slows down; you have to remember to shift down to be ready for the inevitable jump.

Lead outs seem to go ok, (hard to see from one corner where I was marshalling) but we need stronger riders to push Adam. Josh, Gavin, Sean, Pete, can we tempt you for a Windsor session sometime? Thanks to Greg, Jim, Jeremy and Steve who took turns watching corners and holding riders for the sprint starts.

We did get a complaint from a neighbour about noise. However when I asked "Is this quiet enough?", in the voice I was using for instructions, she couldn't hear me because the garden hose in her hand drowned us out. A police officer eventually came, but he was very diplomatic and didn't see anything wrong with what we were doing, asked us to keep it down, and departed with a cheery 'keep the rubber side down'. Still, we should be extra careful to keep voices down, not just for our own sessions, but so the organizers of the Windsor race don't have difficulty when they ask for permission.

Sorry Lister, the same family duties that prevented me from going to Hurricane Ridge extended themselves to the point where I couldn't do ANYTHING today. :(

Thanks Lister for another great session, and thanks to Adam for making me feel my age! One thing I find difficult is picking the correct gear for final sprint, and the practice was helpful for this.

Thanks Lister,

Sprinting practice was great, I really need to get a little more power in my legs for those quick sprints and the practice was very helpful.

As a guy who typically has to rush off to work during the week and back to the kids on the weekends, I'm very proud to have set a coffee record for myself - 1 hour of sitting, caffinating and chatting. Hoping I can better this tomorrow as I have the day off.
