Christian was hurting me. At least he was hurting Lisa more. Rob Hasagawa and Matt also showed up. I think Beacon Hill is a bit harder than UVic. Six beacons = 5 UVics roughly. Missed the motivator coach.

Agree with John. The road looks good. Could only be improved by some merciless hammering. .
I have about 1/4 lung capacity from this cold, but can come and wheeze at you Christian.

70% chance of rain by 7, so all should have fenders and flaps.

Forecast doesn't include much rain until tomorrow morning-ish, fenders are pretty much required, should be nice though

Anyone up for Ttt intervals? 6 am ring road

Also, what do folks think of timing the reps and handicapping the teams to make it interesting? Eg time the first rep, send off the slowest team first and allow the difference in their times to elapse before heading off. Whoever improves the most 'wins'. Might see some nice side by side last lap team battles, like shimano and greenedge on the champs élysées. My cough is back, so I'll volunteer to time it if nec. We should be able to time ourselves, but if pressing buttons doesn't come easy before coffee, I'll understand.

Shall we Barton-ize the Thursday am workout this week? Erin Attwell could use some training partners for track nationals. Forecast is cool, but dry.

Erin Attwell is in the last hard week of training before u17 track nationals Nov 21-23. She is considering coming out tomorrow to do her intervals alongside the ttt workout.

She could just use a ttt team for a leadout of her 45 sec intervals. And do her 4 min intervals just off the back of a team.

Or we could jump in a bit more; e.g. do 3/4 lap in a fast ttt leadout, with her trying to come around in the last 1/4 lap, like a points race sprint. (eg mcgill to henderson). And do faster 1-2 lap ttt efforts with her, in small teams of 2-3 (to get lots of pulls). It would be strenuous and uncomfortable, but a way for the rest of us to stretch above our comfort zone (if ttts can be called that!)

Well, we had the quintessential Tripleshot solution today, changes with things exactly the same.

Thanks to Dave A., Peter, Christian, Mandy, Alan who did the usual 3 x 5 lap Ttt intervals. Meanwhile Erin did sprints from the back three times in the first rep to simulate points race sprints. Then in rep 2 and 3 did two one lap pursuit efforts 10 metres off the back. Made me think others might like the chance to use the Ttt teams for different interval work. The more things change, the more they stay the same. In a good way.

Anyone showing up tomorrow morning? Hopefully it'll be dry.

I'll be there Sherri. Rain or shine, as long as folks have fenders and flaps, it's quite doable in the rain. In yesterday's downpour I was comfortable for 11/2 hours in two layers of neoprene plus gore booties. Front flap protected feet and chain, rear, the riders behind. Rain jackets aren't that aero, but it's about the workout, not the speed. Your heart and legs can't tell the speed; just need to trick your brain.

It's been looking kinda icy lately early mornings so I'm wondering when and what is the verdict on Thursday's ride?
