Post by Duane »

I've posted the preliminary BC Masters schedule (and VCL schedule) at:

Note that Bill Yearwood has colored the Master races green and put other races on the schedule.

Thanks Duane. Fantastic schedule, with more events yet to be finalized. After an up and down, and up season in 2010 I for one am very much looking forward to the 2011 race season.

Attention Tripleshot-Spinnakers racers. The following information is provided as an introduction to some and perhaps a reminder to others of membership and Age info for the BC Masters Cycling Association. (It sure would be great to have some company out there.) Last year Ryan C had an outstanding year, winning 2 events (maybe 3?). Paul and Marcus rode for the first time. I know I have left a few TSC members out and of course the TTT was widely supported by TSC. BC Masters offers some of the only Road Racing on Vancouver Island. Events also includes Crits and TT's. The more that turn out, the better the racing opportunities. These are competitive and fun events. True that the events are on weekends and some travel is needed. If more turn out there will be more opportunity for car pooling, etc. Come out and enjoy the racing and social activities. BCMCA is in the process of developing a totally new and up to date website. Watch for news on this and other BCMCA activity.

Membership fee (2010)
BC Masters Cycling Association events are classed as club events and restricted to our members. No license is required. The cost of membership is only $30 for a calendar year. Although $5 single event memberships are available, we recommend our full membership. Besides being inexpensive, a full membership means less hassle for you and officials at events

Age groups
Riders are grouped five-year divisions, starting at age 30. That's men's 30 to 34, 35 to 39, 40 to 44 and so on. The same for women. There's no upper age limit.
