Kudos to Alex G trail builder

Alex G of TS/Oak Bay High put in a big effort at SIMBS trail maintenance day today. Four hours of hauling rocks, soil, cutting roots and digging ditches to build a new section of Fun Trail in the upper section. Photos will be posted on the simbs site soon.

Lunch (a very good sandwich of your choice), soup and brownies, plus draw prizes are offered to those who volunteer. You can store your bike in their lock-up to ride after too.

To get notices of the trail days, usually every third Sunday, send a message to Chris Oman, the trail maintenance guy at SIMBS (sorta like their Peter, but with tools) trails@simbs.com, to get added to the email list, which is how they remind you to commit and get your sandwich order in.

I rode Fun Trail in both directions today from bottom to top, then top to bottom, and it was awesome! Also I love the new Sofa King (I can actually ride it).

I hope to get my act together and start trail building in Feb.
