Boxing day - less shopping, more riding.

Post by steve »

Anyone interested in a classic Sunday ride on Boxing Day? I checked the Starbucks website and it looks like the Fairfield Plaza Starbucks opens @ 6:30am - meet at 7am for coffee and roll out at 7:30?

Merry Christmas

I'm in. If there is interest in going longer, riding out to Metchosin for the time trial might work if we didn't go too far up the peninsula.

I might be in I'll check with family. If I can be home 10:00 to 10:30 should be fine.

I'm in for the regular ride start, but I have to be at the Prairie Inn by about 9:45, so I'm going to do some kind of Peninsula loop beyond Michell Farm to get that timing right.

Just to set the record straight: Sundays used to be a 7 am departure. Then, that changed to 7:30 am (just sorta happened about 2 years ago). Then Sylvan pointed out that somewhere it's written that we leave at 7:20 am, so a few months back that became the norm.

Anyway, if it isn't raining too hard, I'll be there.

Just in case someone is basing a boxing day ride decision on the size of the peloton, I've decided to bail out on the 7-7:30 mtg. A little too much Christmas wine. Might be good by 9 am.

It was a good ride this morning - a solid 10 showed up, all suffering from a little Christmas over indulgence, but a nice workout. It created a little room for turkey leftovers a little more wine.

Yep, a little over indulgence slowed a few of us, but sure felt good to get out and shake the demons out.
