I was just watching Chek 6 news while I was waiting in the lobby of the crystal pool for Ella to get changed after swim club. Who should appear on the TV, but Dave. Apparently the sportscaster for Chek was one of the guys at the Ryder Cycling camp. There's going to be a full special on it at 7:30 tonight.

OK. Oh gawd. OK. How about Monday, Dec 27, weather semi-permitting, of course? We need to have banged out a 5-hour ride at some point between now and XMas to be able to consider this. And I'll need to see a waiver signed by a parent or other legal signing authority allowing you to do this and absolving me of blame for any consequences. This kind of ride is of a challenging nature, but once you've done it, you can basically do anything you want for the rest of the year, as long as you keep riding consistently, so it's worth it. It just makes you unbelievably hard and grizzled.

This one isn't even stupid. Ryder said the Renfrew rides made him what he is. It won't make us what he is, but it'll make us better versions of what we are.

Um, yeah, I'm pretty sure it was December. Let me check... No, it was June 22. That's not a big deal, though, really. We have lights and winter gear. It'll be awesome.

Yes. Not the whole thing, though. I'd be up for 80 km out and back, 100 miles. That'll get us most of the climbing past Jordan River. Turnaround would be about the same place as this year's road race, I think.
